Poker is a card game played by a group of people sitting around a table. Each player has chips that they can use to make bets on each hand. The goal is to have the highest ranked hand when all the betting rounds are over. The winner of the hand takes the \u201cpot,\u201d which is all of the chips that were bet during the deal.<\/p>\n
Each player starts by placing an initial amount of money into the pot (the amount varies by game). This is called the ante. The players then begin dealing cards, one at a time.
