\"Poker\" <\/p>\n

Poker is a card game in which players place bets in order to win a hand. A poker hand consists of five cards, and its value is in inverse proportion to its mathematical frequency; the more rare a card combination, the higher the hand rank. Bets may be placed by one player on the basis of expected value or for strategic reasons, such as bluffing. Other factors in play include the number of players, the structure of the game and the rules of betting.<\/p>\n

In most poker games, the first player must place an initial amount into the pot before the cards are dealt. This is called an ante or blind bet. In cash games, a player can also open the betting with a raise. Players must call the raise in order to stay in the round, or fold if they have a weak hand.<\/p>\n

During the hand, players may draw replacement cards for their discards. Depending on the game, this can be done during or after the betting round.<\/p>\n

A strong poker hand can win the pot with a single bet. Players with weak hands can try to bluff in order to force stronger hands to fold. To bluff effectively, you must be able to read the other players and their betting patterns. Conservative players tend to bet low early in the round and can be easily bluffed into folding their hands. Aggressive players will often increase their bets when they have a strong hand, but can be difficult to read.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
