Casino – The Movie That Changed Vegas

Casino

Casinos are much like indoor amusement parks for adults. They provide a variety of entertainment options including musical shows, lighted fountains and shopping centers but the bulk of the money raked in by casinos every year comes from gambling games of chance. Slot machines, blackjack, poker and roulette are just some of the games that bring in billions in profits for owners every year.

Unlike other movies that have tried to portray what Vegas is all about, Casino takes it all the way with its revealing depiction of mob corruption in the city. The movie is based on the non-fiction book Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas written by Nicholas Pileggi, who also co-wrote the screenplay with director Martin Scorsese.

The movie stars Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone. Although the movie is not without its fair share of violent scenes, it does not resort to gratuitous violence for shock value. In fact, Scorsese purposefully tries to keep the violence as realistic as possible. For example, he designed the casino to have low ceilings in gaming areas so that players are not distracted by empty space above them.

Casinos have become a major destination for people looking for fun, excitement and even a little bit of luxury. The entertainment choices available at casinos are constantly changing and evolving. It is important to understand what is driving these changes and how they can impact your casino. For example, the events that are popular today may not be as popular five or ten years from now. That is why it is important to stay up to date on the latest trends in event planning.
